Natural Damar Resin — Not Synthetic Resin

The word “resin” can sound synthetic, but the resin used in our surf wax is natural Damar resin.

Damar resin is a natural tree resin mainly sourced from Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Malaysia. It is collected from trees in the Dipterocarpaceae family and naturally forms pale yellow or semi-transparent solid pieces.

In the wax, Damar resin helps provide firmness, structure, and tacky grip.

Choose Your Water Temperature

  • Base Coat — foundation layer
  • Cold — below 14°C / 57°F
  • Cool — 14–19°C / 57–66°F
  • Warm — 19–24°C / 66–75°F
  • Tropical — above 24°C / 75°F

For best results, apply Base Coat first, then use the wax that matches your local water temperature.
