How to Install a Surfboard Bike Rack

A surfboard bike rack makes it easier to carry your board to the beach without using a car. Correct installation is important to keep the rack stable and prevent damage to your bicycle or surfboard.

This guide covers the main installation steps for the SS-SR01, SS-SR03 and SS-SR04 surfboard bike racks.

Before Installation

Check that all parts are included:

• Support arms
• Mounting clamp
• Bolts and screws
• Allen key or wrench
• Bungee cords or straps

Clean the mounting area before installing the rack.

SS-SR01 Surfboard Bike Rack Basic Installation

The SS-SR01 is mounted to the bicycle seatpost.

1. Assemble the Arms

Press the spring button and slide the lower U-shaped arm into the upper tube. Choose the same adjustment hole for both arms.

2. Install the Seatpost Clamp

Remove the four bolts, place the clamp around the seatpost and reinstall the bolts.

Tighten the bolts gradually and evenly. The clamp should not rotate or slide.

3. Install the Support Arms

Insert both arms into the mounting tubes and adjust them to the same height.

Make sure the arms do not touch the rear wheel, pedals or bicycle frame.

4. Secure the Board

Place the surfboard into the padded arms and use the bungee cords or straps to secure it.

SS-SR04 Quick-Release Bike Rack Pro Installation

The SS-SR04 is installed in almost the same way as the SS-SR01.

The main difference is the quick-release design:

1. Install the main clamp onto the seatpost.
2. Press the locking button.
3. Slide the support arm into the mount.
4. Release the button and make sure it clicks into place.

The support arms can be removed quickly when the rack is not being used.

SS-SR03 Longboard Bike Rack Installation

The SS-SR03 uses two mounting points, making it more suitable for longer boards.

Front Mount

Install the U-bolt around the bicycle head tube and secure the front mounting tube with the supplied nuts and washers.

Make sure the handlebars can still turn freely.

Rear Mount

Install the rear support onto the seatpost or a strong section of the rear cargo rack.

Insert the support arms into the mounting tubes and adjust both arms so the board remains level.

Final Safety Check

Before riding, check that:

• All bolts are tight
• The arms are fully locked
• The rack does not touch the wheels or pedals
• The board is secured with straps
• The board cannot move forward or sideways

Complete a short test ride at low speed and check the rack again before riding to the beach.

Which Model Should You Choose?

• SS-SR01: Simple seatpost-mounted rack for shortboards
• SS-SR04: Similar to SS-SR01, but with quick-release arms
• SS-SR03: Two-point support system for longboards and larger boards
